Eine Feier des Friedens / A Celebration of Peace

Der musikalische Adventskalender auf LiteraturPlanet ist in diesem Jahr ganz dem Frieden gewidmet. In drei Themenblöcken werden Lieder präsentiert, die auf unterschiedliche Weise die Sehnsucht nach einer friedlicheren Welt zum Ausdruck bringen.

Ein Adventskalender für den Frieden

Ab heute beginnt auf LiteraturPlanet wieder der musikalische Adventskalender – jeden Tag ein neues Türchen, wie es sich gehört.

Unser Adventskalender ist dieses Mal ganz dem Frieden gewidmet. In drei Themenblöcken werden Lieder präsentiert, die auf unterschiedliche Weise die Sehnsucht nach einer friedlicheren Welt zum Ausdruck bringen.

Einsteigen wollen wir auch in diesem Jahr wieder standesgemäß mit dem Weihnachtslied aus dem letztjährigen Adventskalender. Darin geht es – na klar – um die Weihnachtsbotschaft!

Eine finnische Weihnachtsbotschaft

Ja, und was ist das nun eigentlich – die Weihnachtsbotschaft? Verkürzt gesagt: Love and Peace! Christlich gesprochen: Entdecke das Licht in dir, das dir eine Brücke eröffnet zu jenen Kräften, die dich die Liebe zu deinen Nächsten entdecken und dein Handeln danach ausrichten lässt.

Das Problem ist nur: Diese Botschaft hört sich einfach an – sie ist aber, wie wir alle wissen und in diesem Jahr besonders leidvoll erfahren mussten – äußerst schwer umzusetzen.

Vielleicht hilft es ja, die Weihnachtsbotschaft nicht nur gedanklich zu erfassen, sondern ein Gefühl für die Harmonie zu entwickeln, die sich auf Erden ausbreiten könnte, sollte diese Botschaft Wirklichkeit werden. Angesichts unserer unfriedlichen Welt kann dies natürlich nur im Sinne eines schönen Traums geschehen – und eben einen solchen bringt das Lied Ikkunat näkevät der finnischen Band Paavoharju zum Klingen.

Frierend schweigt mein müdes Herz
mit den verstummenden Häusern der Stadt.
Doch dann, um Mitternacht,
ein warmes Klopfen an der Tür:

„Lasst, ihr Dörfer, Städte, Siedlungen,
mich in eurer Mitte wohnen.
Lasst mich eure Zuflucht sein,
Frieden euch und Ruhe bringen.„

Und mein müdes Herz erwärmt sich
an der Sehnsucht himmlischen Gesangs.
Wie auf Frühlingsflügeln schwebt es
in ein neues, sorgenfreies Land.

This year, the musical Advent calendar on LiteraturPlanet is entirely dedicated to peace. In three thematic blocks, songs are presented that in different ways express the longing for a more peaceful world.

A Musical Advent Calendar for Peace

Today marks the beginning of the musical Advent calendar on LiteraturPlanet – a new door will be opened every day, as it should be.

This time, our Advent calendar is entirely dedicated to peace. In three thematic blocks, songs are presented that in different ways express the longing for a more peaceful world.

Once again, we will start with our Christmas carol from last year’s Advent calendar. It is – of course – about the Christmas message!

A Finnish Christmas Message

But what is that actually – the Christmas message? In short: Love and Peace! In Christian terms: Discover the light within you that opens a bridge to those forces that allow you to discover the love for your fellow human beings and to act accordingly.

The problem is, however, that this message sounds simple – but as we all know and had to experience in a particularly painful way this year, it is extremely difficult to implement in everyday life.

Perhaps it will help to not only grasp the Christmas message mentally, but to develop a feeling for the harmony that could spread on earth if we let this message become reality. In view of our unpeaceful world, this is of course only possible in the form of a beautiful dream. It is precisely such a dream that the song Ikkunat näkevät (Looking out of the window) by the Finnish band Paavoharju translates into music.

Looking out of the Window

Freezing, my weary heart falls silent,
just like the silent houses of the city.
But then, at midnight,
a gentle knocking at the door:

„Let me dwell, you cities, towns and villages,
amidst your solitary houses.
Let me be your refuge,
bring you tranquillity and peace.„

Comforted, my weary heart nestles
in the arms of the celestial song.
As if on wings of spring it floats
into a new, unburdened life.
